This month is Family Mediation Week, an opportunity for those who work within the family court system and various mediation services to focus on raising the profile of mediation as a very real alternative to the traditional litigious approach to resolving issues. Whilst mediation is not a “one size fits all” option the process does offer those who find themselves in a situation where they are not able to agree on the arrangements for their children a constructive way forward. Mediation has the potential to help reduce conflict and enable child centred arrangements to be put in place. For those couples who have recently separated entering the mediation process can provide them with a safe environment where they can with the help and support of their mediator discuss various issues that need to be resolved. Potential benefits of mediation are that it is substantially less expensive than formal court proceedings, it can help to reduce conflict and enable you to find workable solutions that you both will feel comfortable with.
All of our mediators are qualified and registered as accredited mediators with the Family Mediation Council.
